Tamper evident
Product theft and counterfeiting is a major concern for oil and lubricant manufacturers in an increasingly global marketplace. Let APC help your company ‘outwit the counterfeit’ with our line of tamper evident closures. APC-25 and APC-7 closure caps have four tabs that must be broken to lift the bails and pull up the spout. Once these bails have been broken, they no longer lie flat which makes opened pails easy to spot. The APC-25 and APC-7 spouts are also sealed by an internal diaphragm with a pull ring to be removed by the end user. These standard features are complemented by APC’s innovative approach to closure installation. The APC-25 series has a lock ring that creates a high performance seal between closure and lid while the patented APC-7 is insert molded into the lid itself, creating the ultimate tamper evident bond.
Built for all climates
We manufacture our spouts with high quality EVA co-polymer resin, which makes them flexible and easy to open, even at cold temperatures. Since our closures extend at temperatures down to -30°C (-22°F) they are a great choice for packaging oils and lubricants that will be used in northern climates. Work crews on the Bakken Oil fields in North Dakota have requested our APC-25 closures because they are user-friendly in all weather conditions and feature large cap bails for easy opening.
Smooth flow
The APC-25-AG ensures a smoother pour thanks to anti-glug tabs that control the liquid flow rate. These tabs help eliminate pouring and spillage problems by ensuring a fast, consistent product flow. Our APC-25 series closures can also be combined with the APC-6 plug vent for even greater performance. This break-open air vent makes it easy to pour viscous products like oil and lubricants by introducing a separate air path into the pail.
Recyclable
Our all-plastic closures are 100% metal free, so they can be easily recycled along with the pail and lid.

Eliminates corrosion
Closures with traditional metal crimp rings are a poor choice for janitorial products. The plating on the metal rings can crack during the crimping process leaving the metal vulnerable to chemical corrosion and unsightly rust. This is not what you want your customers to see. APC’s 100% plastic closures provide a high performance seal without the use of metal. Our APC-25 series closures are attached to the pail lid with a unique plastic lock ring while the patented APC-7 is insert molded directly into the lid to provide the ultimate leak-proof bond.
Improved safety
APC closures are designed with safety in mind. The optional microporous vent (MV) provides a path for gas pressure venting while keeping liquids safely inside the pail. This eliminates the potential problem of stacks of pails swelling and tipping over. The location of the MV vent in the body neck of our APC closures is carefully chosen. The microporous material is mounted below the pull ring (instead of in the cap) to prevent liquid from entering the pull ring area where it could come in contact with the hand of the end-user. The optional anti-glug (AG) tabs give a smoother, more controlled pour to reduce chemical splashing.
UN performance rating
All of our closure bodies are manufactured with a fractional melt index, LDPE-EVA co-polymer resin. The long molecular chains better withstand exposure to many chemicals. APC-25 and APC-7 series closures can be rated to 30 kPa for UN Packing Groups II and III. Metal-free
Our closures are manufactured and packaged 100% metal-free. This helps control the ‘tramp metal’ safety concern of food packagers. Many companies pass packaged goods through metal detectors as part of their quality control program and these systems must be adjusted to compensate for metal crimp ring closures. The APC-25 and APC-3 flexible body resin creates a high performance seal without the need for metal attachment.
Food grade resin
We use 100% virgin food grade resin that is manufactured in the USA and approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Product Stewardship Information from our resin suppliers is available for review; please Contact Us to request a copy.
Recyclable
Many food service pails are collected for recycling into downstream products. Our all-plastic closures are a greener choice since they can be recycled along with the pail and lid. We use high density polyethylene for our closure caps (HDPE) and low density polyethylene co-polymer (LDPE-EVA) for our spouts.

Factory friendly
APC caps and closures are factory friendly and offer production advantages over the 1.93 inch diameter tint plug. APC-25 and APC-4L fit standard cover beaded rim openings which eliminates the need for mold insert changes. The APC-4L can also replace the tint plug + threaded cap combination, saving cap cost and assembly labor. APC-4L paint caps may also be installed on warm or cold covers, before or after they are flame treated. Tint plug closures can shrink during this process leading to quality assurance issues, but the robust fit of the APC-4L skirt over the beaded rim means that QA process variables of hole diameter and interference fit are far easier to manage. Once installed, our APC-4L caps and APC-25 closures stay put and won’t be dislodged by a vacuum pail stacker. This may be reason enough to test our products and see how they compare to the competition.
Painter approved
APC closures are designed with the end user in mind. Paint retailers and painters will appreciate that the APC-4L can be peeled off slowly to avoid messy paint splatter. They will also like the fact that the APC-4L is mounted up onto a rim rather than plugged down into a hole. The cover beaded rim becomes a useful wall to help keep dried paint flecks out of the pail and maintain high paint quality. The APC-25 series is another great choice for painters. It is easy to open and close, and the extendable spout offers a directional pour for less spillage and mess.
